Last week I started work on a little drawing of my sona to go on the home page, but today i was too tired to site up and draw so instead I worked on figuring out how to make an image gallery for my art.

Finished the button and added it to the Links Out page, made a bunch of small changes to various parts of the site, made a Site Map & linked it to the Home Page.

I've started working on a button for this site! I'm hoping to get it added before the end of the week, but I do want to take my time to make sure I end up with a design I like, since it's supposed to go on other people's sites & i can't change it later as easily as I can with the header.

Oh, I forgot to mention that last Friday I added a media log to the site! It's in the "personal" section cause I felt that could be a good place to keep journals & things!

Anyways, today I spent a couple hours going through the document where I save personal site links to gather some buttons for the "links out" page. There's 14 so far, and I'm planning on adding more. Tomorrow I want to start designing a button of my own, for anyone who wants to link to this site :D

I've relaunched the site!! \o/ People can now actually see it again, should they stumble across it ^^

This place is all around still barebones and kind of messy, but it's finally really starting to take shape!

I've gotten this devlog set up with the site theme, and I've been working on the main 5 pages. I might be able to get this site properly relaunched tomorrow :D

Ahhhh I'm almost done with the template!! I finished the header image, I've changed the font, I've figured out how I want to setup the navbar, I think I just need to figure out how exactly I want to use the sidebar, and then I can finally get the other pages set up. I'm really excited to actually have the site up again :D

For the past few days, I've mostly been working on developing a header image!

I'm trying to see how many things I like I can fit into it without making it too busy or incoherent.

Here's a list of elements I've considered including:

  • Cats
  • Ghosts
  • Mist
  • Water / The ocean
  • Jellyfish
  • Whales
  • The Moon / night sky
  • Flowers (especially purple ones)
  • Plants in general
  • Spiral shapes

I think I'm getting closer to a design I like, but I'm not quite there yet!

So, currently as I write this the site is half-broken. I've decided to hide everything until I finish implimenting the new theme/layout fully, but that might take a while. That's probably fine though, what I had so far was basically nothing anyways.

I've been trying to figure out how I want navigation to work. I think I'll put the "main" links in the header, and maybe put a site map in the side bar?

I've been looking at a lot of other sites for inspiration, and to see what the common ways of structuring navigation are.

I've figured out how to easily change all the colors across pages, but I'm not sure how to change things like layout & navigation links across all pages at once.

Learning this stuff is hard!! Although maybe it's my fault for going about this in such an unstructured fashion.

My awe for everyone making creative websites increases every day.

I've finally figured out the color scheme I want to use!

It's been kind of tricky to figure out how to fit all my favorite colors together in a way that looks nice and is easy enough to read.

I've underestimated how long it would take to get the theme set up; I've worked over 15 hours on this project this month and the site still looks basically the same as it did when I started.

I was expecting that I'd have some new pages set up by now!

When I first made this page I'd intended to make logs every day I worked, but I've kept forgetting.

These past couple weeks I've been working on making an actual theme/layout for this blog! I've been spending a lot of time trying to figure out what to make the website look like in order to best represent myself.

I don't have the skill with HTML to make my website look exactly how I'd like yet, so I'm starting with using sadgrl's base and making some edits to it.

There's a few things I want to do before I can implement my theme:

  • Decide on the final color scheme I want to use
  • Make art for the header image & tiled backround that goes with the theme
  • Figure out how best to use the navbar & sidebar
  • Figure out how to set it up so I can easily change the theme without having to edit every page

Once I do all that, I can start making some of the fun pages I have planned!
